Teams should not drive their vehicle without the organizers permission. If they wanted to move from one place to other they have to push the vehicle. Teams should take of their own belongings. Organizers are not responsible for any loss/damage or theft. Team should bring their own tools and equipment during event. Technical InspectionTechnical inspection is done to check whether the vehicle is able to participate safely and reliably in the event. T.I will also check for compliance with the Rule book. There are no points for this round. Each team must qualify this round. Technical inspection will be conducted with a series of stages. Each stage will check each aspect of the vehicle. In each stage one or more specialists from that area will be there. He / She will scrutinize the vehicle. Teams have to clear all the stages of the T.I. Stages are listed below.
Only Two members along with driver are allowed per team during T.I. Team. It is team caption’s responsibility to bring all the documentation during T.I which includes Driver’s license, insurance documents, and all reports. Two attempts will be given during this T.I. It is the chief Technical inspector’s decision whether to allow the team for third attempt or not. Technical inspector’s decision will be final. Once the vehicle passes the T.I no modifications are allowed. If any vehicle found modified will be disqualified. Innovation and design roundIt is a static round. Our judges will check the team’s design skills and new ideas. Judges may question anyone in the teams regarding their vehicle’s design and innovation. It is not a compulsory round however points from this round will be used to calculate the overall winners. Each award carries a maximum of 100 points Brake and Acceleration
All the Vehicles have to pass the brake test to participate in any of the dynamic events. The Vehicle must stop in a straight line (10m Maximum) after the brake is applied on the Vehicle. Each Vehicle will be given 3 attempts to pass the brake test. The acceleration event evaluates the Vehicle’s acceleration in a straight line on flat pavement. The cars will accelerate from a standing start over a distance of 100 m on a flat surface. The foremost part of the Vehicle will be staged at exactly behind the starting line. Auto-Cross RoundThis round is to measure the Vehicle’s cornering ability on a flat surface while making a constant-radius turn and driver’s skill. It is a dynamic round. In this round the vehicle should be driven through a track specified by the organizers. This round is intended to check the handling, cornering, acceleration and braking abilitiesof the vehicles. Vehicle should reach the finish line with in minimum time. Teams with least time to reach the finish will get maximum points. In this round teams can get maximum of 200 points. Sports plastic cones will be placed at predefined position. If the vehicle hit the cone for 2 seconds will be added to time per hit. If the cone totally displaces or fell down, 10 seconds will be added each time. Maximum of two attempts will be given to each team. Teams can choose any driver of their choice. Endurance roundEndurance round is carefully designed to test the overall efficiency. Solar panels, batteries and motors are put to vigorous test during this event. This round has two stages. Details and rules for each stage are given below. Short technical inspection will be done of each vehicle before participating in the endurance round. Lineup of vehicle during this event will be based on the qualifying round points. Teams with maximum points will be lined up in the beginning. Each stage will have separate criteria for scoring.Teams use any driver of their choice. Even they can change their driver in the middle of the race any number of time but they should do it in a specific are that are meant for it. No extra time will be given to change the driver.
Solar performance round will check the efficiency of the solar system. The vehicles have to drive only using solar energy without connecting to batteries. For this endurance round teams has to drive continuously for 3 hours using their solar and battery power combined. Total number of laps cover will be noted. The points considered for Dynamic round will be as follows.

The SSVC event being organized by Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pandharpur is a challenge of design engineering and manufacturing competition that requires performance demonstration of Solar Vehicles and is NOT a race. Engineering ethics will apply. It is recognized that lots of hard work has been put in by the teams for an entry into many events. It is also recognized that this event is an "innovation enhancement experience" but that it often becomes confused with a high stakes race. In the heat of competition, emotions peak and disputes arise. The officials of SSVC are involving trained volunteers in organizing the event and maximum effort will be put in to settle the disputes an equitable, professional manner.
